 BCGEU = British Columbia General Employees Union

There are 95,000 workers/members of this BCGE Union. THEY WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT They work for the people within its country. They are the firefighters, social workers, correctional officers, sheriffs, administrative professionals, conservative officers. 

What the strike about? They want wage hike to 8.25% over two years. The high cost of living is too much and they just want wage increase and increase in benefit. 

Is that too much to ask? Look at those firefighters battling too much extreme wildfires and smokes that are hazardous for their health. Wildfires never seem to end in Canada. Firefighters can die from smoke inhalation if not they can suffer from long lasting ailments. Is 8.25% too little too much? I don't think so! 

How about the social workers? Are their work extreme or hazardous? Yes, if their clients have severe mental disability...they could be hostile. 

Any work that could be hazardous or "in the line of duty wherein their physical and mental is at stake or in jeopardy..." workers need compensation that must be  just and fair and adjusted to the present condition and situation of the economy.

EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK.
