Harvey The Menace

Do you always hear the words "Houston, We have a problem!"

Well, Houston, Texas has a huge problem since Harvey the hurricane had a landfall in Houston. From 140 to 150 km/hr wind speed had hit the state of Texas causing so much havoc, wreckage,  a calamity they never expected and if you are watching the news network of the massive flood all over their urban city and look at the mess of such disaster is totally, totally unbelievable but that's what it is... you can only just look, stare at the mess, the high water, wading through flood water. People walking on water, small boats on the roads and streets, flood inside the houses, apartments and buildings. Boats sinking and cars, trucks stuck on flood water.

Before Harvey the hurricane was reported before the landfall, the people already had panic buying so food wont be a problem for those people in Houston and by looking at how rich those people there that kind of calamity is not that a huge problem. But according to the news the flood had several people dead from drowning? I don't know, you really have to watch the news on TV for further details.

Just pray for their immediate and safe recovery of this kind of mess of epic proportion. On search and rescue? You know that Texas is a very wealthy state of the United States and they have the necessary emergency response team and probably they have the military who are working hard to do their jobs.

Viewing the videos and news photos of such disaster in Houston can't help compare the flood that ravaged Edmonton and Calgary years ago. That it's hard to believe that an urban community can end up in such massive flood and the flood waters can stay for as long as many days on that particular place.

Making A Difference

OMNI Channel is now a channel for Filipino tele-novela which is good for those Filipino overseas workers and Filipino families living in foreign lands they have that channel that caters Philippine-made movies and teleserye.

One of those Filipino series has ended and I forgot the title, LOL. It has that familiar story about an elf (Elfino, Inoy) who fell in love with a mortal human being named Pepay (Princess). It was a long story of rags to riches ala Cinderella fantasy movie. So, tapos na ang teleseries na yun and what happened after that it was replaced with another documentary sort of Filipino families living in Yukon territory. Wow! Ang layo ng place nila and that place is really remote and cold. I couldn't believe that there are so many Filipinos in that part of the land. Listen to what they have to say and although they are in Canada they are not that 100% happy. Who will be happy in another land?

Kung yung ngang mga mayayaman and very popular Filipinos who moved to the U.S. nagsibalik na sa Pinas dahil iba ang life sa ibang countries. No matter what happened, in whatever situation, nobody feels comfortable in foreign lands. You may say that " citizen ka na sa country na yun pero your face hasn't change much, mukha ka pa ring Filipino" unless na bigla ka na lang pumuti, naging blonde ang hair mo through hairdye or biglang tumangos ang ilong mo but then ang strong naman ng accent mo when you speak the English language." So wala rin. So yung iba bumabalik rin after few years in their own land because there's no pretension and maybe there's really nothing to brag about. Kanya-kanyang drama. Mabuti pang maging humble ka na lang at wag ng magyabang. Kasi kung sino yung wala sila pa ang mayabang.

Then another documentary, "Foreign Domestics: The Right To Stay" had hit the airwaves. Medyo luma na yung film na ito about DH or Filipina Domestic Helpers in Canada and they rallied to gain access or rather to stay permanently in Canada. They had that controversial but honest sincere slogan " GOOD ENOUGH TO WORK. GOOD ENOUGH TO STAY." Ang galing! After all those DH are actually College Graduates and some of them were teachers, accountant,  nurses, and God knows what their professional work in the Philippines before they became DH in Canada. DH workers everywhere hailed their work is as important as any other kind of job which is true! It's one of the most valuable hardest jobs in the world. Their work as housekeeper, doing household chores of cleaning the house: scrubbing tubs and toilets, cooking, cleaning the kitchen and its appliances, cleaning glass windows, looking after young children or babies, and other chores such as marketing and cooking extra food for parties, etc. OMG! All these work are the works of MOTHERS! However, when the rich family is super rich they hire Nannies or DH to do the Mother's work (except of course being the wife of the employer). So, what these smart DH did to change the lives of nannies and housemaids in Canada is something to be proud of. THEY MADE A DIFFERENCE! They won their battle. Their battle, their cause, their demonstrations were captured on TV and it was brought to life on the CBC News Radio c/o Mr. Peter Mansbridge ( He was so young way back then when this event happened in Canada). Lumang story na but still applicable in today's time.

What's New?

It was 9 degrees C. yesterday and it was 12 degrees C. this morning and I don't know if the weather temperature will go down or increase this afternoon at the island. Cloudy day. Remember it's now August 25, 2017 and it's Friday. TGIF.

Storms had a landfall in Manila, Philippines recently, then in China and now hurricane will have a landfall in states of America. I don't know the center of calamity, you have to watch the latest news on your own TV in the U.S.

What's new? Of course there is always something new. We can't always rely  from the past. The most important thing to do is worry about what will happen today, tomorrow and the future... do you really have to worry about the future?

Just think about of today for now then tomorrow. I know that advance thinking is better and if you don't have much money you have to start being thrifty and wise.

From Newton to Einstein

College Encyclopedia- Galahad Books
The image above of Albert Einstein, the physicist, the genius had his experiment conducted in the year 1910 during the solar eclipse. In another book that I read, the solar eclipse happened in the year 1919.

Whatever! As long the experiment was successful and the people were then able to view from the sky the "Solar Eclipse" and how it happened right before their eyes.

The point is that Einstein had  replaced the NEWTONIAN theory into EINSTEIN theory of gravitational force.

Reverse Angle

Once in a while there are new movies on TV worth watching and that which leaves a change of heart on what error or mistakes some people are doing in their lives, in the field of work and how humility will set you free.

REVERSE ANGLE is a story of a famous journalist-reporter who takes her work professionally but most of the time "unprofessionally" by not doing her homework properly. She gets to the point and place of work and interviewed the subject of her report and bluntly take advantage of what she can find that will lead to controversial issues raising garbage and that which promote hatred, bigotry and personal issues. However, her professional work was cut short when two gunmen tried to kill her and luckily she was able to escape from crashed and burned vehicle she was driving. She had amnesia and bruises but that doesn't stop her from finding all the clues leading to her traumatic experiences of what news reporting is all about. She was grateful to have at least "few people" (her TV camera man and a doctor who helped her revived her own self of being human again).

There are two reverse angles in this movie. The second one is the "invention of the scientist about a prototype which offered a concept to a different kind of power source." The first reverse angle is you know that eh?

The study of Psychology and Reverse Psychology is a matter of theory for some individuals but to react and find solution of such theory is a matter of faith, time and space.

Tomorrow, many people..  of millions of people from different parts of the world will gather round to view the Solar Eclipse which according to many scientists is one in a hundred years event. The total solar eclipse actually happened in the year 1919 when Albert Einstein, the world renowned physicist was able to finally conduct an experiment and it was at the time of the solar eclipse. He was successful and the result of the experiment made him famous and bankable.

Alien Covenant

What to watch this time? When it gets boring in the internet world then it's time to watch a rented DVD.

We watched ALIEN COVENANT. I know so many alien movies and they never stop to scare us and there is always something to new to find out and know and find out if one movie after another can scare the hell out of us.

ALIEN COVENANT is a Ridley Scott film. Know what if you think this is a sequel to previous ALIEN movies of Sigourney movie the answer is no. Alien Covenant is a sequel of the sci-fi horror movie PROMETHEUS. Surprise! Many surprises in this latest alien movie and I don't like to spoil the story so better watch it while it's still hot.

Amazing Race Canada

Do you follow AMAZING RACE tv show? The American Amazing race is hosted by Phil Keoughan while Amazing Race Canada is hosted by Jon Montgomery.

American version of Amazing Race is finished with Brooke and her partner winning the last leg of the race. Brooke the complainer, Brooke the woman who helplessly asked for help most of the time when she can no longer get hold of herself because the task is too much for herself... was the winner? How that happened? I heard she is a lawyer. Really?! I first thought she is an actress.

Amazing Race Canada is not over yet. Last week's episode had the contestants travel from Canada to China, Thailand through the Sinorama guided tour and then returned to Canada to take Canadian Citizenship test. Each person had different booklet of test, questions such as: Who is the first French-Canadian Prime Minister of Canada which is Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Another question is when the CN Tower was built. Do you know? Maybe in 1976.

Why those kind of questionnaires? Maybe the Portmans Bridge is included in the questionnaire or who is the first PM of Canada? Or what is the true population of Canada. Who knows? Maybe the highest mountain of Canada will be included in the test. Who knows? Too many Canadians don't even know the answers to the CCT. Some of them don't even know they are in American territory or at the territory of Russia. You know when the iceberg melted the surface of the land decreased like a wrinkled prune and suddenly the 3 large countries united with its people not knowing there's really no border separating them. China has invisible curtain and Great Wall. Philippines had the iron curtain before. Others have firewall.

CN Tower is probably included in the test because it is the highest structure/tower in Canada and in the world for 32 years until Burj Khalifa tower was built. But is that Khalifa tower a tower of power or tower of Babel?

The contestants are not allowed to proceed the next phase of the leg until they passed the test. Few of them passed the test first time trying and some of them have to take the tests so many times (several times)  until they pass. It seems the test instructor had great patience to withstand such incredible pressure of long waiting and waiting for them to pass.

You failed, you must try again and again until you succeed. Hey, it's like gambling. You can try and try again to win the lottery. However CCT is somewhat a matter of formality. Could be experimental in nature.

OMG! Paschendale is finished. The Discovery Passage was built and some other man-made passages will be done just keep on praying that you wont be bungee jumping and or climbing to the highest point of the land or building.

Intriguing and Controversial Shows on TV

When there's really nothing to watch on TV, no new TV shows or so many old movies ... better watch something that we don't follow just to bore ourselves or see what's the intrigue is all about at BIG BROTHERS.

It's all bickering, nonsense fighting, backstabbing, lying around, deceptions, strategies on how to eliminate or boot out somebody out of the house. That's what BIG BROTHERS show is all about. Looks like everyone's so bored about themselves until Julie C. the host of the television show tells them the contestants what else they have to do by having to solve trivia, questions which answer TRUE or FALSE on what they have seen (has something to do with sharp vision, memory skills, etc.) The winner of such test becomes the new HOH and the winner has the privilege to eliminate the next contestant. Last night's episode, Jessica was booted off the Big Brother's show instead of Elena (Josh's target actually). Raven and Elena were safe. Who will be booted off when Alex is the HOH this week?  ha! Know what? SURVIVOR Outwit and outplay has the same kind of "theme" but the contestants stayed in a remote island and have to stay most of the time outside the house or cottage. Parusa yon sa kanila. $1 Million kasi ang prize, the punishment is outrageous and out of this world.

Why do you think it's best to watch reality show like this on TV? Do you think this show reflects the workplace in your community or workplace everywhere?

You wont believe the reality show is somewhat similar to every workplace in Canada, America and every workplace around the world. COMPETITION not for huge prizes as what Big Brothers contestants are up to but for competition on barely minimum wage! LOL. Backstabbers, liars, deceptors and all the snakes and bears out there? People whom you know are friends are not real friends when work is involved. There are no friends at work when they have to compete for wages, position, status quo and all those bitchy stuff. Higher achievers Type A achievers will do anything to trash other workers just to be the Employer's favorite Employee. A lot of suckers and bitches out there. You know how to point out these people base on how they talk in public. Just watch and listen.
How to stop these criminals from their scam? You have to know what is scam, fraud and bluffs.

For the less ambitious workers who never want to compete remain the silent-quiet type minding her own business, not sociable are the most happy among the high-achievers. The question of why these less ambitious people and socially inept remain to be at the top of employment is simply because they want a stress-free environment and they have happy life at home. Happy life at home but pressured life at work? Which one is better? Anywhere is okay basta the wage is right. Kung abunado ka pa sa work mo the hell with them. lol Hay naku ewan ba sa TV Shows na yan. Wala na bang ibang entertainment na stress free at we don't have to pay per month? Lugi ang viewers kasi kung pulos na reruns and old movies ang palabas. We're paying $100+ /month for old movies and reruns and mostly replays of fake news!!!!!! Grabe! Lugi!!!!

Clothes & Moths

Last night's episode of SEINFELD (mostly old episodes and reruns) where Cosmo was attacked by Jason 's father when he noticed the cabana shirt he was wearing was actually his own polo-shirt. Jason  sold his father's clothes to Rudy's secondhand store and Cosmo was first to have bought those cabana polo-shirts. The rest of the old stocks of second-hands were then burnt by the second-hand store owner because they were infested with moths.

Where moths came from?

OMG! That's crazy! It's crazy to think that moths came from wriggly worms or caterpillars.

Why on clothes? The fabric, the textiles are produced from fibers of plants (cotton, jute, jusi)  and trees and grass (rayon from bamboo) wool are produced from yarn from animals skin/hides such as from sheep and leather textiles are produced from animals skin such as from cattle, horse, buffallo, etc. while silk fabric is from raw silk production called sericulture ( silkworms spinned itself round and round until they became pupas and when they are mature enough these round pupas are then boiled on hot water and silky yarn can be derived from such long process of threading).

So if you see moths on your clothes inside the closet, beware! Throw your clothes or save your expensive clothes (suits) by washing them on hot water or cold water whatever is the required direction attached to the back neckline of your suit. 4x a year (dry clean is okay)  if you don't use them or just for display. Otherwise you'll have moths in your closet. You can give them as donations if you don't really use them or if came out of style.

Isn't that weird that a second-hand store in the U.S. buys used clothing when some people just donate their clothes for charity? I think it has something to do with how valuable your clothes are. Yes, people some clothes have sentimental value.

Look at those department stores with only sales clerks inside. Where are the people or customers for such department stores? What's going on? I feel a sense of loneliness whenever I see an empty department stores, without customers. And there's more customers inside second-hand stores.

UP, Up It Can Only Be Up From Here

Yeah, yeah >>>>>
When the ceiling is too low missiles are being fired up in the sky.

The kind of testing in Canada is rocket-sky high! It should only be just over the roof.
No wonder not too many College students here and not too many smart professors.

How many College/University students in Philippines? Millions upon millions of students who can pass University and too many are University/College graduates. Many foreign students avail the convenience of such standard when it comes to education. However, it's based on what University you are graduates or what kind of College degrees you acquired.

So, why Canada have to be fuzzy and choosy? Why Canada set the standard of education too high? Too high that no one can pass? What's the huge deal? Always been SPORTS they are after.

Don't you like Canadians having College graduates instead of having to hire foreign workers working for Canada? Economically wise for Canadians to hire workers from other countries because it's the way it is... economy with profit. Canadians are stingy!? Or they knew way too much?

Anyway, I think has something to do with "influence."

Learning is based on the ability of the students. To seek knowledge requires brain and if your ambition is low then there's nothing that we can do. You have to be ambitious. Not ambitious enough? Play sorry!

It's The Dome Out There & The Ceiling Is Too Low

Whatever happened to the teleseries of Stephen King's THE DOME? I only watched few episodes and then was off the air, why?

We all can learn from Stephen King's many novels because so many acts of God are played within his incredible novels of macabre, scientific knowledge, magic and wizardry, sorcery and telekinetic power, the taboos,  demonic, unbelievable supernaturals where good triumphs over evil.

GOOD Vs EVIL. Nothing else.

Great is for cheese and it gets moldy when it's too old.

Accept the fact that we are all aiming for the greater good because we are humans and we seek the truth and justice will always prevail.

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS! N E W S!

There's really nothing to watch nowadays except TV NEWS, at a time when nothing much going on anywhere, everywhere. There are so many functions in the community where we live but it has something to do with fundraising, you know the non-stop fundraising for people who are sick.

I think people who are employed in our community do not really think about what's really happening anyway, or what's the latest news because they are busy with their work. Good for them.

NEWS about Sydney Crosby on parade showing their winning prize of the Stanley Cup this year of 2017. Hey how many times their hockey team won? Is this the 4th time Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup? How lucky they are. I wonder when the Vancouver Canucks will win the Stanley Cup? Dream dreams and make your dreams your master.

The wildfire causing chaotic, upsetting news fort hose who are victims of this raging wildfire in the interior of BC. I don't know when it will stop. After 150 wildfire and burning another wildfire appears at the horizon. So weird already. If you have weak lungs and respiratory problems such as asthma and bronchitis it's best to just move out from such area of problems.

Then the revival of stories/news about the death of Princess Diana. What else those reporters would like to unearth about her life story? Good memories should linger and bad memories should be forgotten. It's unfair for Princess Diana to be dragged into another controversial and hurtful news/hearsays and stupid gossip wherein she can no longer defend herself.

Another important news is how to stop N. Korea from firing missiles or how to stop N. Korea from conducting missile test. Why are they firing missiles? What's the purpose of such test? What is the target of their test? Is it the icy clouds? Trying to control the climate? Is there something we need to know? North Korea's not receiving enough sunlight and they are using artificial satellite to prevent their country  from freezing? I know that's ridiculous but can you see their leader laughing at every firing of missile? Could it be that they want to control all the Korean drama series? LOL. It's not really funny but so many scientists in Korea and that's not laughing matter. Who knows maybe the missile rocket is full of kimchi. Perhaps full of korean bugs! I don't really know what those missile tests are. If some leaders from the rest of the world are not frightened about such missiles then who are we to question such test? You know test and context.

THE NATIONAL at CBC NEWS will be covered by four chosen intellectual, talented journalists namely Rosemary Barton, Adrienne Arsenault, Ian Hanomansing and Andrew Chang. They were chosen specifically and purposely because of their expertise in journalism and it takes 4 correspondents to replace the recent retiree and senior news correspondent former host Peter Mansbridge (the expert amongst the novice has  retired) and what could we the viewers expect from the replacement? Who knows could be exciting because the 4 hosts have different ideas and opinions and in our generation we need new creative ideas, new opinions matter and strategic and tactic need to improve.

Oh well, it's always been courage, speed, connection, and finding the truth in nation building and in news broadcasting.

The Unfinished Business

Problems? Maraming problema pag di mo kavibes yung roommates mo.

Iba dito sa Canada when it comes to College life. Working students are the majority of Canadian students aiming high for higher education with exception to the rule for those rich aspiring ambitious asians, mostly Chinese affluent, influential families from HK. Bakit nga ba maraming Chinese sa Vancouver mainland? Eh, kasi, just look at the environment parang Hongkong kasi di ba? Malay mo HK nga sya eh or part of China kaya maraming Chinese. Di ba nagkaroon ng great earthquake before the Millennium kaya siguro part of the great wall gumuho opening the great barrier. Bakit ba kasi tong mga Chinese eh pulos sila mayaman? Ano bang secreto nila?

When it comes to trade lagi silang nangunguna. Kahit ano itinitinda nila.

Teka may lahi ba akong Chinese? Kasi minsan napapagkamalan akong Intsik. Hindi dahil ang kutis ko ay porcelana! Ay! Porcelata pala. Ahhahahah! Nakakahiya!

So balik tayo sa College?University students sa Canada. Sa tutuo lang pag available ang work, mas unahin mo yung work with pay. Then they have to study again for another college degree lalo ng tumaas ang degree pero walang mga vacant job for them. Then they end up wasting money and loans they cannot pay. Siguro kasi yung loans nila over $20,000 kaya ganun. Magloan ka yung kaya mong bayaran. Mr. Mansbridge once interviewed these College Grads from different University that these kids accumulated so much degrees yet can't find the right job and they end up working in the job unfit for what they had learned in College. Besides, truth is experience is the requirement for any job/position they are after. Choosing the right College degree/course is what you can begin with your dreams or better yet learn how to use your talent in discovering that the source of employment is not just in one place in other words learn to move from one province to another. Learn to adapt and find work in another land. Makipagcompetition ka sa ibang workers. Look at Masterchef, ganun klase ang competition dito very competitive and the pressure is too high. Hay naku init!

Canadians working in another country? Weird? Filipinos or Overseas workers would rather work here in Canada and to tell Canadians to work in foreign lands? that's absurd right? Missionaries do that. So many Canadian teachers found job in Japan and in the Middle east or nurses working in the U.S.  Engineers and architects working in Qatar and soldiers working in Saudi Arabia. Maybe sooner than later the carpenters of Canada will do the carpentry work and building constructions in Philippines. It takes only less than a month to build a mansion in Canada, you know? Hindi inaabot ng isang taon just to build a 3-5 bedroom house. Yan pala ang ability ng mga Canadians, they can build a house in less than 2-4 weeks provided all the materials are ready, que umaraw o umulan.

Yung iba namang graduate na talaga kaya lang yung work nila they have to study again and again tulad ng mga doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, researchers, antrophologists, biologists, chemists, pharmacists, scientists, priests and missionaries Sssssssss... hay naku ang trabaho nila walang katapusang pag-aaral.

For the writers? Walang katapusang stories. NEVER ENDING STORIES.

Oh, Well Loopholes

Too much competition in the showbizworld? TRUE! When a known popular movie star said on TV that she doesn't know why she needs to do the audition before she can be in the cast for such specific movie, look no further that being versatile, being popular is no longer the route to success. It is a very competitive world when it comes to any kind of employment, everywhere, wherever you go and apply for work. So many of them now in showbiz. For every role or part the producers, directors, the camera men they have the job description that you can't wage war with. Nobody's a VIP in showbiz anymore. Be a diva and play your capricious, spoiled brats image and you are replaced with somebody else. You can't jump or you can't climb nor do any stunts then you're out. Producers and directors and camera men have limits to how long they can wait and most of all not wasting so much films for spoiled brats. If you can act a perfect scene perfectly in one shot or just take one or to or 3 then you are good for the next scenes but take 4 to take10 you have to pack your bags and out of the studio. You don't know your script or you can't focus you are out.

In showbiz, some movie stars stayed in showbiz because they are part of the production or maybe they are stockholders. It's always been that so called "relativity." Family, clan or relationship with the movie production company is a must to be reconsidered in choosing the cast of actors and actresses to play part/roles in movies.

In the Hollywood elites? It's whom you know, not what you know. Obviously. Well, also consider the fan factor. You have to count how many millions of fans you have who loyally patronize every movies you made.

Out showbiz: Better study hard, have a College/University education to have a better future. However it doesn't stop there. You must work and how to succeed at work? Experience helps attain your goal and aim and references kind of help too achieve what you need to achieve. For the most ambitious? Have you seen the movie Great Gatsby? Or how about the most ambitious humans out there? Remember what goes up must come down. The rise and fall. I'm not talking about people who climb up and down the ladder or stairs (literally) and fall down because that's accident. The rise and fall of emperors and leaders are mostly human error part of the blame is one can't go higher than a government. If you are a human being who want to be higher than a government you end up like the Russian Czar where all the members of his family were murdered by the revolutionists. You want to be higher than the government of your country and you are good,  kindhearted and compassionate, you end up like a charity. You are not rich nor wealthy by the billions of dollars but you are rich by the quantity of friends you have. Choose your loops.

Critic and Criticisms. Cloak and Dagger

It's not good to be a  critic or a judge maybe being a jury and witness is not good either but in this world we are bombarded with criticisms.

I myself been criticize so many times. At times I usually defend myself from harsh criticisms and sometimes or most of the time whatever they are criticizing about me passes through my ears out to the other end and stop where it should stop.

I was not criticize with my work when I was in the Philippines, actually I always been praised for my work for professionalism, for being my own leader, self-reliant doing my work alone without the need to being supervised. I was a product of old school, strict discipline and I worked so hard to achieve my goals. I don't ask for help from anybody but when somebody asked help then I obliged to help them. You know I'm like an angel. But where the angels are the demons always appear... hard to believe where Jesus reigns the devil comes to tempt Him.

There are so many critic in the field of show business. I'm not those famous paid critics for showbiz personalities. What am doing is criticizing what I have observed or seen on TV and movies. It's my opinion not the opinion of Blogger or Google.

You know what? So many critics for showbiz personalities were threatened, bullied and died. They were stalked and sometimes not paid for their work. So their job is risky and prone to accidents.

If you are a CRITIC and you want to be in this kind of job you must wear a thick face, masks, or perhaps be a superhero. LOL. Ha ha that's funny!

No really, you have to be a superhuman or you should have wings or cape. You should be like Superman or Supergirl with super powers because movie stars think they are invincible and they have supernatural powers so to criticize them you should have super powers too.
