Tokyo 2020 (2021) Summer Olympic Games

It was Friday morning when hubby and I watched the Opening Ceremony of the TOKYO 2020 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES. Tokyo 2020 in all the streamlines and banners but the events unfold this year July 2021.

July 23, 2021 - August 8, 2021.

I did not see the very initial opening of the ceremony. I happened to watch on our TV screen, the parade of athletes, the parade of Nation (the countries the athletes represent for the Olympic games). Of course the OLYMPIC GAMES aim is simply the traditional purpose of PARTICIPATION. Winning the Olympic Medals is a plus and rewards of achievements and accomplishments for hard work and the great effort each team, each athlete who devoted their valuable time to train themselves despite of all the hindrances, the hurdles and difficulties. What made this Olympic Game different from the rest of the games? The pandemic that crippled the economy, the political and livelihood of billions of people around the world has cancelled this world's traditional relay of the OLYMPIC GAMES,  for many centuries since it had its beginning in ancient Greece. However, OLYMPIC GAMES is about its original, traditional theme of being FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER but who is WISER? Yeah, who is wiser and witty in this game? The participants of the game or those athletes who wont participate because COVID-19 is stronger?

Everybody has a mind of his or her own. It is for the athlete's wise reasoning whether they play or not play for the Olympic Game.

I am not a game player for the Olympic Games. I am just a "watcher." Television is our medium of what's happening. What TV Stations and their anchors plus their camera men are our "watchful eyes and keen observant of the main event."

Canada's flag bearer: Nathan Hirayama (Rugby) & Miranda Ayim (Basketball)

I'm glad that Philippines has representatives for the Olympic Games for Tokyo 2021.

The American team of athletes.

FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER

TOGETHER

I hope in the next Olympic Games they have to include WISER.

The behind the scenes "push button technicians."  Lighting the whole industrialized, civilized  urban district of Tokyo.

Drones above the Olympic Games arena.

The Kabuki traditional Japanese drama/dance/singing was not shown as the camera was focused mainly on the female pianist.

Tennis champ Naomi Watanabe receiving the torch light. Oppsi...it was Naomi Osaka in Tokyo, Japan.

As she lightened and ignited the flame for the Olympic Cauldron of Fire.

As of this writing, July 24, 2021: Several Olympic athletes had received gold medals such as China, Italy, Japan, South Korea, etc.

Hey, before I forget, IMAGINE, the song written and sung by the late John Lennon has been a part of the Opening ceremony with different famous artists singing the song from other countries  that include Keith Urban, John Legend, etc. Yep, it's Japan's Olympic Games and they include foreign artists to be included in their Olympic Games representation.

Why? It has something to do with the word SOLIDARITY.

First Olympic Medal For Canada in Sochi's 2014 Winter Olympic Games

CONGRATULATIONS to Mark McMorris! Canada's first Olympic medallist at Sochi's Winter Olympic Games (2014).  It's Bronze for Mark! Congratulations also to the Gold medallist US, Sage Kotsenburg and Silver medallist from Norway, Stale Sandberg.

My daughter and I watched the Slopestyle event last night. Slopestyle? I first thought that was snowboarding event.  It was one of the "extreme sports" added to the Olympic Games.

There are so many sports event that I have to watch such as: Biathlon. I love this sports of cross-country skiing following trails and then going up to the target shooting and aiming rifles. It was a sport contested in 1924 because it's  very challenging. The Norwegians finally succeed to include Biathlon as an Olympic game worthy of a cause. Well it's great for the military practice of target shooting.

Next sports I want to see are:  the Moguls, Speed skating, Downhill skiing, Figure skating, Ice dance skating (pair), Hockey (Male and Female's team). Canada has 221 athletes to compete in numerous sports programs so it is impossible for them not to bring in so many medals. The Americans have hundreds of athletes who joined the Olympic Games and so as Russian delegations. But the motto in Olympic Games is HIGHER< STRONGER, FASTER!

Who's next to bring us GOLD MEDALS? SILVER and BRONZE? Anybody?

Representation

Canada's > Simon Whitfield,  triathlon star carrying the Canadian flag.

Canadian Olympic athletes showing so much happiness and pride just to be there at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games.

Then the Olympic athletes from the Philippines...

Diaz carrying the flag of the Philippines. She represents the weightlifting team for the country.

The Russian Federation of athletes. Sharapova was there joining her Russian delegation.

Team USA and who wont recognize the famous basketball star Kobe Bryant. Nice outfit they have.

The host country and their delagates the British arrived in their all white uniform with gold accent collar and the loud cheering from the audience filled the air.

So many athletes in their team.

I think it's a great honor just to be present there at the stadium, at the podium. Be a part of the entire once in a lifetime world event, the greatest test for all great athletes in our lifetime. JUST TO BE THERE.

Then the extreme pressure sets in and they have to compete real hard with all their might...who is the fastest, the strongest and then the smartest. It's all about GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE. More stress, more pressures when the tabulation begins what sports, who won the medals, what country and what category.

Olympic Games is not a lame game event. It is the most costly event on earth. Not cheap. EXPENSIVE and COSTLY to sponsor Olympic Games. It is a four year plan, set up and everything that goes in and out lay the foundation of a bigger structure and expenditures and lastly the result? REVENUES.

You only get to know there are revenues afterwards when there's a continuity of this world's humongous games that "never stop."

P.S.

Who's your favorite athlete?
